I love my small garden. It is a place where I soak up the sunshine and play with my children. It is something about gardening that reduces stress for me. I believe fresh vegetables are beautiful and my favorite piece of summer is to see them on my kitchen counters!

I am not an expert at all when it comes to gardening and I am good with that. It is hard work but it is much more manageable when I only plant things I know we will eat. The best part about gardening is that there is not a perfect way to do things and it is interesting to see what others are doing in their gardens. I love to see various garden plans!

Another amazing thing with gardening is the learning part of it. How great is it to grow your own food? I have developed a new love for canning and I hope to do more of that this year. I hope my children always love to garden and learn about nature.

Here I have created this Small Garden Planning Checklist and Seed Starting Printable for myself to stay organized.

I get caught up in every day things a lot and push things that are time sensitive (like starting seeds!) to the back burner. That happen to you?

Anyway, this year I feel behind on my gardening but this coming week I am going to start full force. I am using this week to wrap my head around it and plan. To get me started I have ordered These.

When I have a plan in my head I feel less stressed about what I am doing. Having a small garden each year is a must for our family. It is something we enjoy to do together. It is not perfect but it is fun for us even though it is a lot of work.

  1. It’s fun for us too and our kids love it. We also see it as a way of keeping the kids busy during the spring break.
