The whole lunch packing is new to me. My oldest just started pre-k and is a little picky when it comes to eating. (Yuck!) But, the Yumbox is amazing. Here are a few Yumbox lunch packing for PreK tips.
I did find the Yumbox (Rosa Pink) Leakproof lunch box on Amazon and WE love it. Although, I think it is a little larger than what she needs this year we still use it and plan to use it for later years as well.
This is the smaller version YUMBOX (Aqua Turquoise) Leakproof . This would be great for lunch packing for Pre K.

The key to packing lunch in a Yumbox is having a variety of lunch foods on hand ready to go. I have a picky eater and a variety helps.
My #1 tip is to wash all fruit and veggies when you get home from grocery store. Then, cut them and put in airtight containers in the fridge so they are ready to go for lunch packing time. This helps me make a lunch in less than 5 minutes.
Also, having tools and accessories to make everything “FUN”. (My toddler will eat it better if it is cute?)
Our Yumbox has 6 slots for different lunch items.
These are the things my daughter eats in her Yumbox so far:
- Ham & Cheese (I use shape cutters like these)
- Peanut butter sandwich (I like these)
- Whole wheat crackers
- Organic cheese puff bites
- Fruit (I love these Cutters)
- Organic fruit snacks (My child just likes the texture of these)
- Yogurt bites
- Yogurt (each compartment seals so nothing leaks or touches!)
I wish I didn’t have a picky eater. It would be so much faster to pack lunches for each day.
Making things look “FUN” has helped her try new things. These are GREAT too.
This YUMBOX really makes it easier, though. One box that seals each compartment when closed is great. I love that it can go in the dishwasher (top rack) !
